Feb 14, 2010 · The screeching sound is likely emitting from the idler pulley that keeps tension on the drum belt. I added a video showing how to access and replace the idler pulley if you feel confident in doing so. I recommend removing the belt and then manually rotate the dryer drum counter clockwise (CCW) to see if it continues to make the screeching noise.
